Here is some exciting news regarding the soup kitchen and the community at large. Home of Good Hope in partnership with Aktion StraBenkinder (Germany) has launched the Wohnprojekt >> “Build Shacks” project.
The project includes building 15 shack houses for the less fortunate families in the Goreangab, Havana and 7De laan informal settlement, and supplying them with groceries and new blankets. We hope with great publications like this one that the City of Windhoek and Namibian Government will have to do something about the land we have been wanting all these years.
They started building on 01/03/2016 and members of the community will all be giving a helping hand.
Here are some of the pictures of the “Build Shacks” program Home of Good Hope is involved with. In total we are building 16 shacks for the less fortunate families from the Goreangab, Havana and 7de laan settlements. So far we have helped build 11 Shacks and will continue with the rest during the course of this week.
The project originates from Germany and is run and managed by Uwe Waltersbacher and his wife Francesca Waltersbacher.
